Diamond: The 60th & 10th Anniversary Gemstone
The traditional gemstone for both the 60th and 10th wedding anniversaries is diamond. As one of the hardest natural materials on Earth, diamonds are formed under extreme pressure and temperature conditions, deep within the Earth’s mantle, at depths between 150 and 250 kilometers.
Diamonds are made of pure carbon, with atoms arranged in a crystal structure known as diamond cubic, making them exceptionally strong, with a perfect score of 10 on the Mohs scale. Most natural diamonds are billions of years old, with ages ranging from 1 to 3.5 billion years, making them not only a rare and precious gem but also a timeless symbol of enduring love and strength.
